I had a doctor's appointment today, and I"m happy to report that Carter's baby sibling is growing perfectly! At 13 weeks and 4 days, the heart rate is a healthy booming 164 beats per minute. I'm happy to say I'm now officially and completely out of the first trimester...here's to a little pumpkin coming October 31!
Now I just need to decide whether to find out whether it's a boy or girl!! What to do?! My big ultrasound will be May 27 at 8:30am...so I'm sure I'll change my mind daily until then. What should we do?!

Great husband
Someone's been listening!! Haha. Ryan surprised me this morning with my birthday present - a lens for my camera that I've been wanting for a long time now. It is a 50mm 1.8f which means it's really great for portraits because it gives that pretty foggy background behind an in-focus subject.
Unfortunately, it won't autofocus with my camera (which I knew), so I will be interested in an upgrade to the Nikon D90 sometime in the future, but for now, I'm practicing my manual focus! Carter and I had a good time outside this afternoon and I was able to coax him into posing for his Mama :)

Simming Pool!
Today Carter and I joined Miss Juju (aka Julia) and her lovely and very pregnant mother Lindsay at the pool! We got to Red's around 3pm, and Carter started to wail and cry once we pulled into the parking lot :( He just hates the gym daycare so much that he thought I was leaving him there and he couldn't deal with it. I tried and tried to reassure him, and eventually he calmed down.
I had to change him into his swimsuit in the car, and first had to strip him down and then put on a swim diaper. As soon as I pulled it out of his bag, Carter said, "ooh, panties!" haha
So we got changed and then put on our sunscreen in the bathroom...and hit the splash park! The new area at Red's is so nice and big, with lots of moving sprinklers and even a baby pool with little fountains in it. It was so nice to sit out today and enjoy the glorious 84 degree weather and sunshine. We even got in the big pool and Carter loved when I threw him up and down, let him walk on the steps, and walked through the lazy river. We had a great time and I know Carter and I will have lots of fun there this summer!

Carter's fever seemed to be better today, so we headed back to work/Meme's house...but I guess Carter's still not feeling great because he crashed on the way there! Poor little guy :(

Sick boy
Carter started running a little fever on Saturday, but I gave him some Motrin and he seemed to be ok. Well, Sunday he seemed even worse, cranky and clingy and overall not happy, even though he had his beloved Sutton here.
So I took a Mommy and Carter day today and we headed over to visit our friend Dr. Huval. We walked in this morning and Carter knew immediately this was not a place he wanted to be :( I had to carry him in the doory way and he cried the moment we walked into the exam room!
Dr. Huval checked his ears and happily everything looked great there. His tubes are still in place and perfect, but then she took a look at his throat and asked me to look back with her. It was awful! I saw huge white spots on his tonsils that looked like large ulcers. OUCH! Poor little guy! No wonder he's been snoring like a freight train and feeling so irritable.
So we headed on home armed with Benadryl and Maalox (who knew! to coat his throat...) and he's napping peacefully now after almost falling asleep in his high chair. Let's hope he's feeling better soon!
