Ellie is 6 months old!

I can't believe my baby girl is HALF of a year old already!! Her 6 month appt is next week, but last week she weighed 15lbs 2oz, so I anticipate she'll be pushing 16 lbs. She's currently eating some veggies and loving them (unlike 2 weeks ago). She giggles constantly and is the smiliest happy baby ever. She is also a magical sleeper and I can put her down wide awake and she snuggles with her blanket and Nuk and crashes. She has also slept all night long twice in the past three nights.

Love my baby girl...

Hmm, what's this?

Tiny fingers and tiny toes

Wiggle worm!!

Destined to be a ballerina?

Loving her big brother

And this is what I have to work with...she tries to get the paper the ENTIRE time I'm taking pictures

Happy 6 months Ellie!

Green Beans and Squash...Yum!

It took her a few tries, but I think Ellie has finally decided she likes her veggies.  I tried with her originally around 5.5 months, and she didn't like anything, so I waited a couple of weeks and tried again in the last few days, and she is much more interested.  Tonight she ate both squash and green beans and loved it all!

Some Carter funnies

After putting on his Ragin Cajun pajamas...Carter: Dad, am I awesome?

Carter: Mama, can I watch cartoons?
Me: No baby, I want to catch the weather report.
Carter: (stomps foot) I'm telling dad!! (runs to the door of my room) It's too locked!
Me: Did you lock it?
Carter: I sure did!

Ryan: Carter, do you like jelly beans?
Carter: No, I like M&Ms and croutons.

And some cute pics just because ;)

Big girl helps Mama with laundry

And Carter is awesome at helping me put the clothes in the washer...and then of course he has to turn out the lights!

Pizza pizza!

Because my parents must be gluttons for punishment, they have decided to not only 'remodel' their kitchen, but gut the ENTIRE thing, tear down walls, and completely restructure the layout of half of their house. I'm sure the end result will be beautiful, but in the meantime...they won't have a kitchen at all. Demo was supposed to begin yesterday, so I invited them over to make some pizza bread (a Gaspard family favorite) with Carter, Ellie, Ryan, and I. The construction was delayed a week, but they still came over and Carter was a BIG helper making some delicious pizza bread. We made a big fat mess, but it was definitely fun and worth it to get Carter involved.

Baby Rhett is here!

My lovely sister in law delivered my second beautiful nephew last week.  He's just the cutest little guy, with a head full of sharp dark hair and the loveliest newborn skin. Ellie and I made the trek up to Shreveport last Thursday (Rhett's birthday) and spent the night there so we could visit a little.  Unfortunately we were newly recovered from the plague in our house (aka the croup), so we tried not to touch the baby too much.  Hopefully we can get lots more cuddles in when we go back for Sutton's birthday party in two weeks.

Here are some pics of the new babe!

Congrats to Josh, Toye, and big brother Sutton ;)

Happy Birthday to me!

My blog postings have been slow as I get to know my new Mackie, but I really love her ;)

FOOD!

After weeks of watching Eliza dive for anything and everything to put in her mouth, combined with a resurgence of her reflux, I decided it was time to give cereal a try. Her first impression was...not good! She gagged and pushed it back out, and then squealed for me to pick her up. So I did, and I nursed her, and then we gave it another try. It went slightly better ;)

You want me to eat what?

Ew!

Well, ok, if you think I'll like it...

Let me try!

NOPE. Still don't like it!

GET IT OUT!

Wait, there's more?

Thank goodness that's over ;)

Happy Easter!

Today was one of those few days I truly feel lucky to have Louisiana weather :) The Easter Bunny of course passed at our house this morning. Carter and Ellie are two lucky kiddos because when I was a kid, the Easter Bunny brought candy ONLY. He must have hit the jackpot or something because he brings toys to our house now ;) (and to Amie's house, and to Meme's house, and to Nonnie's house...)

Then we spent the middle part of the day at 'Annie' and 'Poppie's house and even got to go swimming!! The weather really cleared up and it was really hot. Carter is going to be a little fish this summer, I know it. He got in the pool when we got there and we had to pry him out five hours later.

This nap was loooong overdue

Finally we rounded out our Easter festivities with some fun at Meme and Pop's house. Carter and the kids all got lots of goodies and we had a lovely visit.
